Leigh and Highridge Wood – Open to Walkfest

An 8 mile walk

Meet in Highridge Wood car park (isolated) off the north side of Brockhamhurst Road, 350m west of junction with Leigh Road, south east of Dorking (RH3 7AP). Easy flat walk. Lunch at or picnic near the Seven Stars at Leigh, Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at  9:15 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

Punch Bowl – Open to Walkfest

A 4.5 mile morning walk

Meet at the Hindhead NT Punch Bowl car park (GU26 6AG, charged).  Steps and slopes to traverse. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

River Hamble  Ramble – Open to Walkfest

A 10 mile walk

Meet at Bursledon Station (SO31 8AA, free parking).  M27 then A27 towards Southampton.  After crossing the River Hamble, first left into Church Lane.  Flat walk along the banks of the estuary.  A £1.50 ferry crossing. Lunch at Hamble Le Rice, various pubs and tearooms.  Toilets. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at  8:40 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

A 10.5 mile walk – Open to Walkfest

Meet at the Seven Sisters Country Park car park (BN25 4AD, £4)

Hilly morning climbing onto the South Downs, gentler afternoon mainly by the river Cuckmere. Lunch at Alfriston, Cafes, pubs or picnic, Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at 8:15 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

Where Shires Meet – Open to Walkfest

A 6 + 3 mile figure of 8 walk – Open to Walkfest

Meet at Horseshoe Lake car park Mill Lane, Yately (GU47 8JW). Devil’s Highway and Crowthorne and around Yately. Picnic or café at Horsehoe Lake, no pub. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at 9 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

Canal and Heath – Open to Walkfest

A 5 + 4 mile circular walk

Meet at the Basingstoke Canal Centre, Mychett (GU16 6DD). North of Ash Vale station on B3411, right turn at crossroads, after one mile, to cross the canal by the visitor centre.  Out via Deepcut to Porridgepot hill and back over Tunnel hill. After lunch at the centre, or picnic nearby, out again via the canal to return via Romping Downs. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at 9.15 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

Selborne

A 6 + 5.5 mile figure of 8 walk

Meet in the car park behind the Selborne Arms in Selborne (GU34 3JR).   A flatish stroll through the Hampshire countryside as far as Hartley Mauditt a.m. Upper Farringdon and Newton Valence p.m..  Pub or picnic by the church. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at 9 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

The Common Task

A 10.5 mile circular walk

Meet in Knaphill free village car park behind the COOP in Knaphill High Street (GU21 2PE) which is opposite the petrol station. A mainly flat pleasant stroll around local commons and woods. Return via Brookwood Cemetery. Lunch – picnic in Fox Corner wild life reserve. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford 9:20 a.m. Walk starts 10 a.m.

Meet at the Pitch Hill car park for circuit walk via Ewhurst.  Short steep ups and downs. Walk starts 10 a.m.

A Box Hilly Walk

A 9 mile walk

Meet at Headley Heath Main NT Car park, Headley Common Road (KT18 6QA).  Free to NT members (bring membership card) but £6 to non-members payable by cash or phone (not bank card). Lift share? A few steep ascents but usually with a gentler alternative. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at  9:15 a.m. Walk starts at 10 a.m.

Meet in Coopers Hiil car park, near the Air Force Memorial in Coopers Hill Road, Englefield Green (TW20 0LF). Walk along the Thames and over Colne Valley / Staines Moor. No pub. Lunch either a picnic on Staines Moor or, if popular demand, early at or near the Runnymede Hotel. Prearranged lifts leave Guildford at 9:15 a.m. Walk starts at 10:00 a.m.

Assemble outside Wimbledon station, there is free parking in Woodside, 5  minutes away (see Google maps). Along rivers Wandle and Thames, across Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common. Lunch by river in Putney, picnic, cafe or pub. Walk starts at 10 a.m..

Public Art In Woking

An 8 mile flat country and urban walk

Meet in Guildford Road, Mayford near Woking by The Mayford Arms (post code GU22 9QT).

A good mix of country and urban walking viewing some of the many public works of art in Woking.

Lunch – picnic in Horsell by Cricketers pub (extremely busy so food is not an option).

Three Hindhead Hills

A 9 mile walk

Meet in the free NT car park in Boundless Road.  Turn off the A3 for Thursley cross the A3, turn left then quickly left again down the old A3 and right, into Boundless Road.  Drive about a mile to a small car park on the right, just before the road dives under the A3. We climb Invall, Gibbet and Sugar Loaf hills. Lunch at or near the NT cafe (or in the pub opposite).  An afternoon loop around the Punch Bowl.
